Another example: red blood cells have the function of transporting oxygen from the lungs to the tissues and, in return, collecting carbon dioxide in order to expel it during exhalation. As for white blood cells, their role is to defend the body against external threats.
This same relationship also exists between Lord Krishna, the creator and supreme beneficiary of all that Is, and spiritual beings, his subordinate creatures. As parts of the All that is God, the Supreme Person, we must all contribute to his joy and satisfaction.
Only in this way will we find our own happiness.
What are the reasons for the soul's imprisonment in matter?
In truth, Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, placed us in this material world because we became envious of Him.
The spiritual souls who descended into the material universe made this choice themselves.
The Lord says: If the soul finds itself imprisoned in this way, it is because it harbors a false conception of its identity and considers itself the supreme beneficiary. It is this false ego in the living being that compels it to experience imprisonment within material existence. As the Supreme and Absolute Truth, I personally exist beyond the living being and its material body. Both energies, material and spiritual, operate under My sovereign authority.
The spiritual being is separated from Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, because of their disobedience to the Lord, their refusal to serve Him with love and devotion, their envy of God, and their questioning of the Sovereign Person's authority and supremacy; their true meaning is thus lost.
In truth, the individual spiritual beings who descended into this world of dense matter themselves chose the pleasures of the senses and the pursuit of material delights. It was not Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, who sent them here. The Lord, in His goodness, justly granted their desire.
God created the material world to satisfy all those who wish to abandon the eternal service they owe to the Lord and who desire to become the supreme masters and beneficiaries of all things. When a living being desires to satisfy its senses and forgets the service of the Lord, it is immediately placed in the material world where it then acts freely according to its own desires, thus creating for itself the conditions of existence that will bring about its happiness or unhappiness.
It is important to know that the Lord and living beings are eternally conscious and that none of them experiences birth or death.
