What is the true purpose of human life?

What is the true meaning of life, and what is the ultimate goal of existence?

Truly, everything has an origin, an original cause, and Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, is the original cause of all causes, for everything emanates from Him.

Truly, there is nothing that exists apart from Krishna, God, the Supreme Person. Nor can anything exist without Lord Krishna.

Of all things in this world, both material and spiritual, Lord Krishna is the origin and the end; everything rests upon Him. He is the complete and absolute All. In Him dwells all that exists.

Lord Krishna says of Himself: I know everything that has happened in the past and everything that will happen in the future. I know everything, but no one knows Me.

There truly is nothing that exists apart from Me; this is what you must clearly understand. I am the source of all that Is. The truest person is the one who finds refuge in me in complete surrender, and who, renouncing all material pursuits, lives according to my teachings.

I am that Supreme Person who existed before creation, when nothing existed but myself, and when the cause of creation, material nature, had not yet manifested. I am also the one who will remain after annihilation.

Before the creation of this cosmic manifestation, I alone existed with my own spiritual powers, to the exclusion of all gross, subtle, or causal phenomena. Consciousness had not yet manifested. After creation, I alone lived in all things, and when the time of annihilation (the end of the world) comes, I alone remain forever.
