How can one serve Krishna, God, the Supreme Person?
Truly, we are all eternal servants of the Sovereign Lord, Krishna. All those whose sole ambition is to serve God are free from material defilement.
The simple act of wanting to serve Krishna wherever we are, whatever we do, regardless of the place, time, or environment in which we find ourselves, takes us out of the material realm and into the spiritual sphere.
In reality, all those who use their mind, their senses, their words, their wealth, and their energies in service to God are no longer bound by material nature, and although still in this world, they no longer truly live in it.
The simple act of loving to speak of Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, to others, of wanting to help them attain God-consciousness, is also a form of service offered to the Lord.
Let us glorify God through our actions and our writings. Serving God is the most beautiful and highest action there is.
Lord Krishna said in this regard: When a mortal surrenders to Me and offers Me all their fruitful labor in their desire to serve Me with love and devotion, they at that moment attain freedom from birth and death, and qualify for immortality, sharing in My nature, and the accompanying abundance.
Whoever establishes Me in their heart can escape the sufferings of hunger, thirst, birth, death, lamentation, and delusion. They can thus regain their original transcendental form.
I grant faith and refuge to whoever surrenders to Me and vows to serve Me forever, for this is My nature. Surrender yourself completely to Me. By My grace, you will know absolute peace and attain My eternal and supreme abode.
The position of a servant of God is the highest there is.
It is when one truly establishes oneself in the loving and devoted service offered to Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, that one becomes truly independent.
People of limited understanding are incapable of appreciating the true position of the eternal servants of Lord Krishna.
The use of the word “servant” plunges them into perplexity, even confusion; they cannot understand that this form of service has nothing to do with material servitude.
The position of a servant of God is the highest there is.
One who can understand this truth, and who thereby rediscovers their original nature as an eternal servant to the Lord, becomes perfectly independent; they regain true freedom.
