The Chanting of the Holy Names of God.

The ultimate goal and supreme fruit of chanting the Holy Names of God is to perfectly realize who God is, and to develop pure love for Him.

The more our consciousness is purified, the more our constant spiritual progress will be reflected in our conduct. As soon as the sun appears on the horizon, an ever-increasing warmth and light accompany it. Similarly, as the realization of the Holy Name of Krishna awakens in the heart, this growing spiritual consciousness manifests itself in all facets of our personality.

Ultimately, the eternal bond of love that unites the living being with Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, is re-established.

Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare

This Sanskrit chant means: O Lord, O energy of the Lord, O Source of all happiness, please make me Your beloved servant, allow me to serve You.

Krishna and Rama are Names of God, and Hare is none other than His internal energy, His energy of bliss.

Chanting the Holy Names of the Lord allows us to: Erase all sins accumulated during all our previous lives in material existence, purify our contaminated heart, be delivered from imprisonment in matter (in a dense material body) in this world, obtain spiritual knowledge, progress and give rise to all forms of devotional service, awaken our love for Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, taste spiritual happiness, obtain the company of God and dedicate ourselves to His loving devotional service as if we were plunging into the waters of a great ocean of love, and to attain, whatever the circumstances, the supreme perfection.

Simply chanting or reciting “Hare Krishna” without committing any offense is enough to remove the contamination of the present age, also called the dark age, the age of discord, hypocrisy, quarrels, indifference, decadence, and sin, thus allowing us to regain our original spiritual body and return to God, to our true home.
