Because human beings have forgotten God, they believe themselves to be the masters of the world. God alone is the creator of all that exists, for everything emanates from Him, and He alone governs the world. Nothing can happen without His sanction or consent. Since He is the creator of all that exists, He is also the sole owner and the sole beneficiary of the fruits of the actions of living beings. We therefore have no right over what does not belong to us. What then can be said of the life of a human being, an animal, or a plant?

Also, how can we allow ourselves to decide to take the life of a human being, whatever the reason?

There is no justification for taking anyone's life.

In truth, at the moment of our birth, the hour of our death is already fixed, and if we interrupt a person's life, we are acting against the will of Krishna, God, the Supreme and Sovereign Person. It is better not to intervene despite the situation, however difficult and painful it may be, because the person is actually suffering the consequences of the sinful acts they committed in their previous life. God will take care of it when the time comes.

In truth, death is only the annihilation of the material body. As soon as the body ceases to function, the soul takes on another body determined by the actions committed during its past existence, followed by their consequences. In reality, it is the mental state of the spiritual entity at the moment of death that determines the particular body it will inhabit in its next life.

The spiritual entity changes bodies as soon as the agents of the celestial being, the lord of death and judge of the guilty, have decided upon its next physical form. As long as the embodied soul remains conditioned by matter, it must inhabit material bodies—human, animal, or plant—life after life. The body it will occupy in its next existence is given to it according to the laws of material nature, based on its actions, good or bad, and the consequences that follow. The suffering we endure, the repetitive pains and/or misfortunes we encounter, are the result of our own wrongful actions committed in our previous life.

The reason for the suffering and misfortunes we endure, and the desired outcome.

Let us understand that the suffering, pain, and misfortunes we experience are intended to allow us to atone for our guilty actions, to reduce the mass of sins and guilty acts accumulated during our various past lives, and to allow us to repent, to do penance, to resolve not to repeat them, and to finally turn to God, who is the ultimate purpose of existence.

Based on what has just been said, if we allow ourselves to take the life of a human being, we prevent them from doing all of this; worse, we condemn them to suffer. Let us not remain attached to the material sphere of existence, forgetting that the spiritual dimension is paramount, and that matter proceeds from the spiritual.

In truth, by practicing euthanasia or assisted suicide, through these two abominable acts, people only displace the causes of the problem. They believe they are putting an end to the suffering caused by the body, but this is not the case, because the root or causes of their suffering remain.
