What is the one true purpose of human life, and its only true reason for being?

Lord Krishna says: For a person with spiritual knowledge, I am the only beloved, the ultimate goal, the motive and final conclusion, the elevation and the path that leads to My eternal kingdom. Apart from My Divine Person as the favorite, there is no other purpose.

The purpose of human life is to know Krishna, God, the Supreme Person as He truly is, as well as His renown, qualities, attributes, delights, glories, and excellences.

To renew the bond of love that unites us to Him.

To attain spiritual realization.

To learn to surrender to Him and serve Him with love and devotion.

To learn to love Him, to obey Him, to do His divine will, and to unite our desires, plans, and interests with His.

To learn to know our true spiritual identity, and thus to know with certainty that each of us is an immortal spiritual soul, and not the material body with which we mistakenly identify.

To learn to reject envy, lust, anger, and greed.

To purify ourselves by dedicating ourselves to austerity and penance.

To purify our existence by adopting God-consciousness, also called Krishna-consciousness.

To purify ourselves of all erroneous conceptions of existence by living according to God's teachings and by distancing ourselves from unbelieving materialists, whom we should never associate with.

To attain the highest possible perfection by serving and delighting in pleasing the Supreme Lord.

To realize God, who is none other than Absolute Truth.

To make a firm resolution to return to the absolute realm of Krishna, God, the Supreme, Infinite, and Absolute Person, in order to regain the natural and eternal position we occupied with Him at the beginning of all things, and thus fulfill our duty of love to Him.

Human life is an opportunity to find refuge with a spiritual master, a true servant of God, and through him to take refuge with the Supreme Lord.

The true mission of the individual soul's life, embodied and conditioned by matter—which each of us truly is—is to re-establish its forgotten relationship with Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, and to practice devotional service in such a way as to regain its God-consciousness after leaving the body.

The nature of a person's occupation is of no importance whatsoever; if only they can satisfy the Supreme Lord, then their existence will be successful.

The material universe is created to give embodied and conditioned souls the opportunity to return to the kingdom of God, but most of them do not take advantage of this opportunity.
