The inhabitants of the spiritual planets have the bluish complexion of an azure sky. Their eyes resemble lotuses, and their features are those of adolescents. All of them possess four arms, and their bodies exude a captivating charm. They wear garments in shades of yellow and are all exquisitely adorned with pearl necklaces embellished with medallions. A brilliant radiance emanates from their very being, from their spiritual bodies.
All inhabitants of the spiritual world possess spiritual physical features unknown in this material world. Just as beings in this material world differ from continent to continent or planet to planet, the inhabitants of the spiritual world possess physical features entirely different from those observed in the material cosmos. For example, instead of having two arms, they all have four. Some have the radiance of coral and diamond. Their heads are adorned with crowns of flowers, blooming like lotuses. Some also wear earrings. Some inhabitants have attained the liberation that allows them to possess the same physical features as God, the Supreme Person. The vaidurya stone is the prerogative of the Supreme Lord, and those who attain this form of liberation gain the privilege of also wearing diamonds of this nature. The spiritual world shines with light, while the material universe is shrouded in darkness.
God specifies in this regard: This supreme realm, Mine, is unlit by the sun, moon, or even electricity. For one who attains it, there is no return to this world (this material world).
On each of the Vaikuṇṭha planets of the spiritual world, Nārāyaṇa (the Plenary Emanation of Krishna) is the Sovereign Master. There, his devotees possess physical features identical to his, and their devotion is marked by a feeling of reverence.
However, beyond all these Vaikuṇṭha planets, there is another planet called Goloka, also known as Kṛiṣhṇaloka, where God, the Supreme Person in his original form of Kṛiṣhṇa, manifests the fullness of his power of bliss in the free exchange of love. Since devotees who live in the material world know almost nothing about these exchanges, the Lord wishes to reveal them to their eyes.
Diversity also exists in the spiritual world.
In the spiritual world, all the planets are indistinguishable from the Supreme Lord. Because He is Pure Spirit and absolute in nature, His Name, His Fame, His Glories, Attributes, and Amusements are indistinguishable from His own Person. The same is true of the spiritual planets of God's kingdom. There, there is no difference between body and soul. Moreover, time does not exert its influence as it does in the material cosmos, and therefore, the planets, because they are spiritual, are never destroyed. The spiritual variety that reigns there is also One with the Lord.
In the spiritual world, there exists a transcendental variety. There, each of the distorted forms visible in the material variety is fully represented in its original spiritual identity. While material action is tainted by the material influence of the gunas, the attributes of material nature, the energies of the spiritual world retain their complete purity because they are engaged in the service of pure and absolute love offered to the Lord—this is what makes the difference.
