God also sends down from His realm His pure devotees as Messiahs.

Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, regularly descends Himself to a planet in a given galaxy, or sends His pure devotee and authentic representative called a messenger, son of God, companion, or intimate servant.

By His will, the Sovereign Lord, Krishna, descends to the material planets in countless forms of Avatars for specific reasons, such as protecting His pure devotees from the clutches of evil kings, slaying those demonic monarchs who cause suffering to the people, and restoring spirituality, after which He returns to His realm.

Avatar literally means “the one who descends.” The Avatar is a full emanation of Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, or one of His representatives, who “descends” from the spiritual world into the material universe to restore the principles of religion and spirituality.

Let us understand that neither the Supreme Person, nor the pure beings He Himself sends to Earth, for example, are ordinary beings like the common run of humankind. A true messenger of the Lord is worth just as much as God Himself.

Periodically, a messenger of the Lord appears like a ray of light, to teach the world the ultimate purpose of existence. Noble heads of families pray to God to entrust them with one of His messengers, so that a beneficial influence may be exerted upon human society.

Those who accept to place themselves under the guidance of such a great soul can also attain the knowledge of God and establish themselves, just like the pure devotee of the Lord, at the spiritual and absolute level. They will thus be freed from the grip of matter and return to their original abode, located in the kingdom of God, to enjoy eternal happiness.

The Comforter, also called “Messiah, Liberator, or Redeemer.”

When spirituality declines on a planet in a given galaxy, Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, Himself comes to restore it. He sends down from His realm one of His companions, a pure devotee of His Divine Person, with the mission of making Him known as He truly is, spreading His divine word and sublime, saving teachings, and freeing the captives from their prisons so that they may finally attain liberation and salvation.

Jesus had foretold that Lord Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, would send another Comforter: I have many other spiritual things to reveal to you, but you cannot receive them now, for they are beyond your level of understanding. When the Advocate comes, the Spirit of truth whom the Father will send, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but he will speak whatever he hears from the Father, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
