Prophecy of Brahma concerning the advent of Lord Kalki. The Reasons for the Coming of the Masei.
Brahma is the first being created in our galaxy, and this is true for all galaxies. He receives from the Supreme Lord the power to create everything in the galaxy, of which he is the chief ruler. He is placed in this position by Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, the Sovereign Lord.
Addressing his son, the great sage Narada Muni, Brahma said: Then, at the end of the Kali Yuga, the Iron Age, the present age, when no one speaks of God, even in the homes of the so-called sages and respectable men of the three upper classes, when the power of government has passed into the hands of ministers from the lowest strata of society, that of laborers or even more vile, and when everything from the performance of sacrifices to the accompanying invocations has been forgotten, then the Lord will appear as the master of punishment.
These words depict the most ominous symptoms or signs that will mark the final phase of our era or age, the age of Kali, the age of discord, quarrels, hypocrisy, indifference, decadence, and sin, and all beings will be placed under the sign of atheism. Then, even those considered to be of great purity and those of the so-called upper classes, who are generally known as “twice-born,” will all become atheists. Consequently, all will forget even the Holy Name of the Lord, let alone His divine acts.
The highest strata of society, comprised first of the intelligent men who shape the future, the wise, the spiritual masters, then of the leaders who oversee the law and its application, and finally of those who produce and contribute to the economic development of society, must have a thorough mastery of the knowledge related to the Supreme Lord, and know in all truth His Name, His Attributes, His Amusements, His Entourage, His Avatars, and everything connected with His Personality.
The true criterion by which men of great holiness and members of the upper classes of society are recognized lies in their knowledge of the science of God, and not in any hereditary status or other material contingency attached to the body. Such designations, bestowed upon themselves by a man ignorant of the science of God and the practice of devotional service, are worth no more than ornaments on a corpse. When society is overrun by these decorated corpses, countless anomalies develop, disrupting the normal and peaceful course of an existence focused on the perfection of humankind. The lack of education or culture among the upper classes, particularly regarding the science of God, deprives them of any qualification to merit the title of “twice-born.”
