Does God, the Supreme Spiritual Being, the Eternal Sovereign, the Supreme Person, Infinite and Absolute, possess a fully spiritual body, and if so, what form does it take?
Yes, Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, the Eternal Sovereign, Infinite and Absolute, does indeed possess a fully spiritual body, the form of which is the one He has given to humankind.
Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, as He truly is.
Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, is a living being just like all of us. He is not an impersonal, formless entity, as impersonalists believe.
Since we are all individuals, persons, but with limited knowledge and abundance, impersonalists cannot accept the idea that the Supreme, the Infinite, the first cause of all things, is also a Person. In truth, the body of Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, in his personal, original form, is veiled from impersonalists, unbelievers, and atheists by the radiance emanating from the Lord's sublime body. Only devotees, realized great souls, and servants of Krishna can see him without this dazzling radiance and admire his wondrous divine form.
The Vedas, the original holy scriptures also called “The True Gospel,” inform us, on the contrary, that God is indeed a person. Krishna is a person, as are we, with the difference that there is no distinction between his supreme spiritual body and his Soul, for they are One.
God is One, and we are legion, yet we worship Him because He provides for all our needs. God is a person endowed with extraordinary and inconceivable intelligence and consciousness. He has a completely spiritual body in human form.
Did not God say, at the creation of man?: “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness…” (Genesis 1:26)
God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27)
Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, gave man a body whose form is identical to His own.
The sublime, personal, real, primordial, original, infinite, and absolute form of the Sovereign Lord is of ineffable beauty. It is entirely and spiritually pure, and filled with absolute knowledge, perfect bliss, infinite truth, sublime reality, and eternity.
Krishna, the Supreme Eternal, says of Himself: My absolute spiritual body [All knowledge, bliss, and eternity] resembles the human form in every way, but it is not a material body; it is inconceivable (which is why He is never subject to hunger, thirst, or fatigue). I am not compelled by nature to accept a particular type of body; it is of My own free will that I choose the form in which I appear. My heart is also spiritual, and I am always full of benevolence toward My devotees. Thus, one can discover in My heart the path of devotional service, intended for holy beings, while I have rejected irreligion and non-devotional activities; they hold no attraction for Me. Because of all these divine attributes, prayers are generally addressed to Me under the name Risabhadeva, the Sovereign Lord, the best of all living beings.
I remain unborn, and My body, spiritual and absolute, never deteriorates. I am the Lord of all beings, and yet, in My original form, I descend into this universe at regular intervals.
