It is difficult to imagine the suffering that awaits livestock farmers, owners, and employees of slaughterhouses, not only in this life already, but certainly in the next.

Neither living nor dying is desirable for a hunter or a murderer. If he lives, his sinful acts continue to accumulate and prepare him for an even more suffering-filled next life. If he dies, he immediately begins to suffer his punishment. That is why it is recommended that he neither live nor die.

It is the duty of the servant of God to ensure that no one suffers because of their sinful actions. Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, calls those who live in ignorance of true spiritual knowledge, of God, and of the facts concerning the truth, deceitful and deluded, an expression indicating that, although superficially educated, their knowledge is stolen from them by the energy of illusion, which is akin to Satan.

Such people are at the head of society today. They are blind men leading other blind men; all will eventually go astray and fall into a ditch. Those who follow such leaders will also have to experience unlimited suffering in the future. Nowadays, so-called civilized men kill thousands of animals every day solely for the satisfaction of their taste buds and other human beings without any remorse, coldly and dispassionately. It is for this reason that the whole world suffers in so many ways. Politicians initiate hostilities without apparent reason, and, by the rigid laws of material nature, nations massacre one another.

Have you ever wondered why some people die young and others old, and why some are born with a physical disability, deaf, mute, or blind?

In truth, all our thoughts, words, and actions, focused on good or evil in all its forms, have effects that cause positive or harmful and therefore very painful consequences, which we already experience in our current life, but especially and certainly in the next. Our current life is the result of our past karmic activities, accomplished in our previous life.

Based on one's current situation, one can deduce what a person's past activities were; whether they were sinful or virtuous. Being born with one or more physical or mental disabilities, poor health, an unattractive physical appearance, into a deprived family, with harsh and indifferent parents, etc., are all indications that a person has committed certain sinful activities in one or more past lives.

On the other hand, being born with robust health, a beautiful physical appearance, into a wealthy family, with attentive and affectionate parents, etc., are all signs that the person has reaped the results of pious activities accomplished in one or more past lives.
