The celestial beings, endowed with powers by God, govern different sectors of creation, the various functions of material nature, and govern the elements of the material body, under the authority of Lord Krishna or Visnu.

Indeed, the Lord's plenipotentiary ministers, the celestial beings, govern even the smallest mechanisms of a living being, such as an ant or a virus.

These are the beings whom the Lord has endowed with the power to govern a sector of material creation, the heavenly bodies like the Sun, the stars, the planets like the Earth, the Moon, the elements of nature, such as rain, hurricanes, fire, etc., and thus to look after the needs of all beings.

Indeed, the celestial beings govern all the activities of the different parts of our body; this is an established fact. We are not even masters of the blinking of our eyelids; everything is done under the direction of the celestial beings.

They are also the ones who inhabit the planets in the upper region of the galaxy, such as the heavenly, paradise planets.

As the Supreme Soul, Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, resides in the hearts of all celestial beings. It is He who ensures that celestial beings fulfill the desires of humankind. Neither celestial beings nor human beings are independent. They all depend on the supreme will of God. They are all an integral part of Krishna.

The celestial being who rules the moon, Candra, emerged from the mind of Narayana, Krishna's plenary emanation, and the celestial being who rules the sun from his eyes. The celestial beings who control hearing and the vital breath emanate from Narayana, and the celestial being who controls fire from his mouth.

They are all agents of Lord Krishna, acting in His name, although they are not as powerful as Him. They all have to act under the direction of Lord Visnu, the plenary emanation of Krishna, and are all his obedient servants, who only follow his orders exactly.

There is, therefore, a great difference between Lord Krishna or Visnu and the celestial beings. Those who worship celestial beings reach their planets, while those who worship Krishna or Visnu reach the spiritual planets.

The celestial beings are not supreme; their supremacy depends on the mercy of Narayana, Krishna, or Visnu.

The Supreme Lord, creator of the cosmic manifestation, knows every corner of His creation. Although the latter draws its cause from Him, the Lord exists without any cause other than Himself.

He is perfectly aware of all things. He is the Supreme Soul, the governor of all spiritual qualities, and the Master of the cosmic manifestation as far as bondage to matter or liberation from the shackles of material existence is concerned.

The celestial beings cannot grant anything to their worshippers without the Lord's sanction. Man may forget that everything belongs to the Lord, but not the celestial beings.
