The Eternal Religion has received eternity as its essence and attribute from Krishna, God, the Supreme Person.
The service of love and devotion offered to God is the essence of the Eternal Religion and the manifestation of the love one feels for Lord Krishna.
The institution advocating the natural organization of society into social classes and spiritual divisions is a creation of Krishna, God, the Supreme Person.
Since the Eternal Religion has neither beginning nor end, nor any material origin, it remains the primary activity of all beings in the material universe.
It is none other than the process of devotional service, through which we can come to know Lord Krishna and His eternal abode. Only through this sublime service can one return to this abode in the spiritual world, the eternal world, to enjoy eternal bliss.
Lord Krishna said in this regard: Only through devotional service, and only in this way, can one know Me as I truly am. And the being who, through such devotion, becomes fully conscious of My Person, can then enter My absolute realm.
This is the truth that the Lord Himself teaches. It is humanity’s duty to make good use of this easy path.
But few in this age, when all human beings suffer cruelly, plunged as they are into the darkness of materialism, can find refuge. Humanity’s only refuge is in the eternal religion, which reveals to them the true purpose of life and offers them an easy journey to the planets of the spiritual world. There, people can live in the company of Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, immersed in unending bliss, total knowledge, and eternity.
When a society loses its structure, when the organization of social classes is no longer ensured, the destruction of the family unit leads to the collapse of the eternal traditions established by God, aimed at the material as well as the spiritual well-being of its inhabitants. Human beings then descend into irreligion.
The natural organization of society into social classes and spiritual divisions, created by God, includes many moral principles whose role is to allow family members to grow in strength and wisdom, gradually assimilating spiritual values throughout their lives.
It is the elders in a family who have the responsibility of ensuring the application of these principles. Their death risks interrupting these practices, which would lead their descendants to fall into irreligion and atheism, thus losing all possibility of spiritual liberation. Destroying the elders and the knowledge they convey is a grave sin.
