Why must we absolutely serve God, and why must we love to please Him?
Why are we God's eternal servants, and what is our eternal duty to Him?
God, the Supreme Person, in His Primordial, Original, Infinite form, is the Absolute Unique without equal, and the Absolute Truth.
God has no name, yet He Himself says, “The Lord, that is my name.”
In truth, God, the Supreme and Sovereign Person, has no Name, or rather, no one knows how many He truly has. Because God is infinite, limitless, His Names are likewise. He therefore bears various Names according to the diverse aspects of His absolute personality, His qualities, and His glories.
Proceeding from this same quality, the Names of God have the power to purify whoever chants them. There is no difference between chanting the Name of the Lord and living in His personal divine presence. The reason for this is that God is absolute, beyond all duality. The Lord is entirely present in His Name; the two, God and His Holy Name, are intrinsically identical. Thus, God transcends all duality, since His Name and His Person are One.
Nevertheless, certain Names are more fitting for Him in His capacity as the Divine and Supreme Person.
For example, here are some Names of God that don't describe Him precisely, or that emphasize God's majesty and sovereignty.
The word God, of Germanic origin, means “the infinitely good.”
Elohim: Means: “God the Creator, strong and powerful.” El Shaddai: Means “God Almighty.” Adonai: Means “Lord.” Jehovah: Means “the Eternal.” Yahweh: Means “the Eternal.” El-Elohe: Means “God mighty, strong, and preeminent.” Awoon: This Name of God in Aramaic means “Our Universal Father.” Allah: Means “The Giver of Life.”
But Krishna, which means “the infinitely fascinating,” “the one who infinitely fascinates,” is the first of all, and the most powerful among them, because the Lord has invested him with power. For example, simply pronouncing this sublime name is enough to see all one's sins instantly erased. Now, to willfully sin by uttering this sublime name so that they may be erased would be an offense against God, and the person who did so would be guilty and would suffer severe punishment.
