Each physical galaxy has a lifespan of 311 trillion 40 billion (311,040,000,000,000) solar years, and is then destroyed on a day known only to God.

Why did the Eternal One create a temporary world where suffering reigns?

Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, created the temporary world in which we exist simply because He does not want us to remain in this world of dense matter. He wants us to realize the extent of our error and understand how wrong we were in choosing to come here, and thus decide to return to our true, original home, which is in the spiritual world.

It is for this reason that He has caused His external energy, more commonly known as material energy, or His material nature, to lead incarnate and conditioned spiritual souls to a state of frustration, which will one day lead them to turn to Krishna, the Eternal Sovereign, the Supreme Lord, who resides in the heart of every living being, in His form as the Supreme Soul, also called the Holy Spirit, and to surrender to Him.

Out of love for all living beings, the Lord helps them by sending His pure devotees, His intimate servants, so that they may reveal to them the true knowledge of the spiritual world, raise them back to their spiritual level, and present them with true divine knowledge, enlightening them with this transcendental wisdom so that they may return to the kingdom of God.

In truth, man is a trilogy.

Krishna, the Supreme Lord, said: Just as ether, though everywhere diffused, cannot, by its subtle nature, mingle with anything, so too the soul, of spiritual substance, though in the body, does not mingle with it.

Ether penetrates water, mud, matter—in short, everything that exists—but does not mingle with anything. The same is true of the soul. Although it resides in various material bodies—human, animal, and vegetable—by its subtle, spiritual nature, it remains independent of all these various bodies. It is therefore impossible to see with our physical eyes how the soul is in contact with the material body in which it resides, and how it separates from it when the latter perishes, in what is called “death.”

No scientist can explain these things.

Man is composed of a physical body, an ethereal body, and a spiritual soul.

The physical body is merely the vessel of the spiritual soul. Each of us is, in truth, an immortal spiritual soul.

The mind, the intellect, and the false ego form the ethereal body in which the spiritual soul is contained. At the moment of death, the ethereal body, the inner vessel, carries the soul into the new body that a new mother prepares for the soul that will incarnate there, and the physical body, made of earth, water, air, fire, and ether, constitutes the outer vessel.
