When the time of annihilation arrives, Shiva, the full emanation of Sankarsana, Himself the full emanation of Krishna, his hair disheveled, pierces the masters of the different directions with his trident. He laughs and dances proudly, scattering their hands like flags, just as a storm scatters clouds across the world. Shiva uses his power and strength at the moment of the galaxy's annihilation. At the moment of dissolution, Shiva, trident in hand, performs a dance above the rulers of the various planets, his hair falling in disarray just as clouds scatter in all directions, in order to flood the planets with ceaseless torrents of rain. During the final phase of this apocalypse, all the planets are flooded, and it is Shiva's dance, known as the Dance of Dissolution, that brings about this deluge.
This is what happened somewhere in the cosmos. Scientists witnessed the destruction of an entire galaxy on October 1, 2014, at 7:04 AM. God destroys a galaxy and puts an end to the existence of the beings who lived there.
It is written: “At the end of time, or the end of the world, the annihilation of the entire galaxy will occur.” In the three planetary systems of the galaxy, all beings begin to suffer terribly from the heat produced by the destructive energy released by God, the source of the annihilating fire. Each one then thinks of the fire that, when the time of annihilation came, destroyed the entire galaxy.
In Science & Vie No. 1199 we read: “Where does this strange flash of X-rays detected by the Chandra telescope come from? One hundred and fifteen particles of light that testify that at the other end of the universe, an apocalypse took place, that a world ended in a gigantic explosion…they even found the probable origin of the signal: A galaxy in the direction of the point of light.”
At either of these two annihilations, material and marginal energy, embodied spiritual beings are absorbed into the body of the Supreme Lord. When the cosmic manifestation is dissolved, all living beings return to the body of Lord Garbhodakasayi Vishnu, the full emanation of Krishna, who himself will merge into the body of Maha-Vishna, the first full emanation of Krishna.
The living beings (souls) then remain there as if asleep, until the material galaxy is created anew. Such are the ways of the creation, maintenance, and destruction of the material world. This is the case for all galaxies.
Material creation is produced by the interaction of the three attributes and modes of influence of material nature: virtue, passion, and ignorance, set in motion by the Lord.
Thus, it is said that the Lord existed before the manifestation of material influences. Only Vishnu, the Supreme Lord (a plenary emanation of Krishna), existed before creation, without Brahma, Shiva, or any other celestial being. This Vishnu is Maha-Vishnu, reclining upon the ocean of causes, or causal ocean. By the action of his breath alone, countless galaxies emanate from his body in the form of seeds, which then gradually develop into gigantic spheres, each containing countless planets, just as banyan seeds grow into immense trees with countless branches.
