Of course, whoever is thus entrusted with a responsibility must always remain aware of their own limitations and seek the Lord's mercy so that they may successfully fulfill their duty. We must not become conceited simply because we have been chosen to perform a particular task. This is indeed a great blessing, and whoever remains firmly grounded in the awareness of being subordinate to God's will is assured of success in carrying out their duties.
The mercy that Lord Krishna bestows upon those who fulfill a responsibility entrusted to Him surpasses all imagination. However, it must be understood that His mercy is received only in recognition of the austerities performed and the perseverance shown in carrying out the devotional service offered to Him.
Krishna, the Supreme Lord, guides all living beings.
He sustains them and fulfills all their desires. No one is independent, for all depend on the mercy of the Supreme Lord, Krishna. Therefore, we must enjoy life under the guidance of the Supreme Guide, the Sovereign Person.
Since everything belongs to Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, no living being should encroach upon the possessions of others, but simply take their allotted portion. The best course of action is to follow the directives of the Supreme Lord, Krishna, in order to fully enjoy existence, both material and spiritual.
Therefore, it is the duty of each of us to enjoy life according to our present condition, but always, of course, under the guidance of Lord Krishna and the Vedas, the original holy scriptures also known as “the true gospel.”
The Vedas contain the very words of the Lord. He gives us the opportunity to enjoy material existence as we see fit, but at the same time, he instructs us on the art and manner of adhering to the teachings of the Vedas so that we may gradually ascend to the point where we are liberated from the bonds of matter.
Conditioned souls who come to this material world to satisfy their desire to dominate material energy find themselves bound by the laws of nature. It is therefore better to adhere to the Vedic precepts of the Vedas. This will help us progress toward liberation, toward salvation.
The constant reincarnation of the soul that each of us truly is, from one physical body to another, is the source of the suffering associated with material existence.
