Unfortunately, spiritual education is completely absent from current civilization. No one understands its true purpose, which is that of the spiritual soul and not the physical body, nor its true spiritual identity. True education is spiritual, not material.

To work intensely under the sway of a bodily conception of existence, without spiritual education, is akin to living like an animal. People expend so much energy simply on bodily comforts, without being educated about the importance of the spiritual soul. They thus live in a dangerous civilization, for the spiritual soul must indeed reincarnate, passing from one body to another.

Without spiritual education, human beings remain in ignorance and do not know what will become of them after the death of their bodies. They work blindly, and blind leaders direct them. The person deprived of reason does not know that they remain entirely enslaved by material nature and that, after death, this nature will impose upon them a particular kind of physical form, which they must accept. They do not know that although they may be, in this present human body, someone of great importance, for example, they risk being reborn in the body of an animal or a tree for having acted in ignorance of God under the influence of material nature's modes of power: virtue, passion, and ignorance.

Spiritual education cultivates and develops the consciousness of God and gives humanity the true light of spiritual existence. It teaches us that each of us is a spiritual soul, not a physical body, and helps us learn to surrender to God, to love Him, to obey Him, to renew the bond that unites us to Him, and to serve Him with love and devotion. It provides the key to entering the kingdom of God.

The second milestone of spiritual knowledge.

In truth, all those who inhabit the material world have voluntarily and freely exposed themselves to the risk of being conditioned by matter. They have thrown themselves into the trap of the laws of material nature.

The very purpose of human life is to lead the incarnate spiritual being to understand the causes of its conditioning, the only way to escape the clutches of material existence. The only way to leave this material bondage is to submit to the will of God.

But the fool, rather than fleeing the grip of maya, the energy of illusion which is akin to Satan, becomes entangled in the different appellations in relation to what he believes to be his identity, intellectual, administrator, merchant, worker, Hindu, Christian, Muslim, European, American, African, and in relation to this identity he develops in turn an attitude, a particular position, a behavior, and only submits to the orders of the Supreme Lord under the influence of the laws and scriptures relating to this identity.

The human laws of any state are merely imperfect imitations of religious precepts. Secular and separate from God, the state allows citizens to break divine laws, but strictly enjoins them to obey its own.
