We must absolutely abandon the materialistic way of life based on envy and self-interested desire, where avarice is the foundation, which keeps us perpetually ignorant of God and existential truth, and opt instead for the far more beautiful, purer way of life, more in keeping with our position as servants of God, whose foundation is love for the Lord. Through this love, we express in thought, word, and deed the feelings and affection we have for Krishna, God, the Supreme Person. We constantly manifest our love for Him through the constant desire to please Him and make Him happy. Making Him happy is our primary and sole concern.

Let us understand, finally, that surrender to God is the sole duty of all beings. Since everything depends on the will of Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, our one and only duty is to surrender to Him, to serve Him with love and devotion, and to seek His protection. This is the perfection of existence.

Therefore, let us always find joy in loving Him, obeying Him, doing His divine will, surrendering to Him, and serving Him with love and devotion.

The position of a servant of God is the highest there is.

It is when one truly establishes oneself in the loving and devoted service offered to Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, that one becomes truly independent.

People of limited understanding remain incapable of appreciating the true position of the eternal servants of Lord Krishna. The use of the word “servant” plunges them into perplexity, even confusion; they cannot understand that this form of service has nothing to do with material servitude.

The position of a servant of God is the highest there is. One who can understand this truth, and who thereby rediscovers their original nature as an eternal servant to the Lord, becomes perfectly independent. They regain true freedom.

What does it mean to “serve God,” and to be a “servant of God”?

To be a servant of God is, first and foremost, to love Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, with all one's strength, with all one's heart, with all one's mind, with all one's spiritual essence, and to desire nothing other than to serve Him alone.

It is to offer complete and loving obedience to Krishna, with the aim of pleasing Him, making Him happy, but also of fulfilling a wish, a desire, or a will expressed by the Lord, and interceding in His Name with the beings of this material world, in order to transmit to them the true knowledge of which God is the author, for their well-being and even their attainment of liberation.

It is to use all one's senses, lovingly placing them exclusively at the service of the Lord's spiritual senses.
