As the Supreme Lord, I am the source of the living entity (the spiritual soul), of the modes of influence of material nature: virtue, passion, ignorance, and of the elements of material nature: earth, water, fire, air, and ether. Thus, I am ALL, and nothing can exist without Me.
Even if for a time I could count all the atoms in the universe, I could not count all My opulences that I manifest in countless galaxies.
Whatever power, beauty, fame, opulence, humility, renunciation, mental pleasure, fortune, might, tolerance, or spiritual knowledge may be, it is simply an expansion of My opulence.
I have briefly described to you all My spiritual opulences, as well as the extraordinary material characteristics of My creation, perceived by the mind and defined in different ways depending on the circumstances.
Dense matter arises from the spiritual. This is true of all material creations, and it is in this way that the entire universe has developed.
The elements that compose material nature are: earth, water, fire, air, and ether.
Ether is produced by sound, and sound itself represents the transformation of passion united with the false ego. In other words, ether is the symbolic representation of the Supreme Soul, Krishna.
Egoistic beings dominated by passion and ignorance cannot conceive of the Supreme Person, and for them, the ether contained within space represents the Supreme Soul.
When the Supreme Lord, Krishna, looks upon the ether, the latter, partially mixed with eternal time and external energy more commonly known as material nature, gives rise to tactile sensations, from which the air that fills space appears.
From the ether arise tactile sensations, produced by the combined action of eternal time, external energy, and the gaze of the Supreme Person. These tactile sensations then generate air in space.
Similarly, all other material elements appear, from the most subtle to the most gross, dense matter.
Sound transforms into ether, touch into air, form into fire, taste into water, and smell into earth.
Then, air, at its most powerful, combines with the ether of space to create form, perceptible to the senses, and this perception transforms into radiance, the light that allows us to contemplate the world.
When radiance overwhelms the air and the Supreme Being gazes upon it, water and taste are created through a combination of eternal time and external energy.
