Krishna, God, the Supreme Person, descends to Earth to safeguard the principles of spirituality and ensure the destruction of the unbelieving infidels.

Vasudeva (the father Krishna chose when he appeared on Earth 5,000 years ago), addressing the Lord, said:

You are the Unborn, yet You descend from age to age to fulfill Your mission.

O Lord, just as many forms appear in the sky and then vanish, You appear and disappear from this world in many eternal forms. Who can comprehend Your Amusements or the mystery of Your Appearances and Disappearances?

Our sole concern, therefore, should be to glorify Your supreme greatness.

Vasudeva, addressing Krishna and Balarama, said:

Dear Lords, the vast expanse of space resides within You. The vibrations of the ether, thunder, the supreme sound, the omkara, and the various combinations of words used to distinguish things from one another are Your symbolic representations. You are everything.

The senses, the Masters of the senses, the celestial beings, and the acquisition of knowledge, which is both the function of the senses and the object of knowledge—You are all.

The resolution of intelligence and the keen memory of living beings—that is You. And the egotistical principle inherent in Ignorance, the origin of this material galaxy, and the egotistical principle inherent in Passion, the origin of the senses, and that inherent in Virtue, the origin of the various celestial beings acting as masters in this world—that too is You.

Always You, the illusory, Mayan energy, cause of the perpetual transmigration of the conditioned being from one form to another.

Dear Lords, You are the Original Cause of all causes, just as the Earth is the origin of the various species of trees, plants, and other similar manifestations. As the Earth is represented in everything, You are present throughout this entire material manifestation in the form of the Supreme Soul.

Yes, You are the Sovereign Cause of all causes, the eternal Principle. Everything, in truth, is a manifestation of Your one energy. The three attributes and modes of influence of material nature—virtue, passion, and ignorance—as well as the result of their interaction, are linked to You through Your supreme energy, which veils You to ordinary people and reveals You to Your devotees.

Supposedly independent, they are not, for in truth, all material energy rests upon You, the Supreme Soul.

The ultimate cause of all things, the transformations of material manifestation—birth, growth, stabilization, reproduction, decline, and destruction—are absent in You. Your supreme energy takes on a thousand forms, and precisely because it represents Your energy, You are present everywhere.

The Lord says in this regard: This entire galaxy is permeated by Me, in My unmanifested Form. All beings are in Me, but I am not in them.
