How to escape oblivion?
We have forgotten everything about God, about the bond that unites us to Him, about our true spiritual identity, about our original home in the spiritual world, and how to escape this illusory world where we must endure the cycle of repeated reincarnations, and in each life, experience these four sufferings: birth, sickness, old age, and death.
We have forgotten God, as well as the service of love and devotion that we owe Him. This is why we are lost in this world of death and successive reincarnations, where suffering is perpetual.
In truth, four sources are at the root of this forgetfulness.
The first source is distancing ourselves from God and remaining far from Him.
The second source is succumbing to the influence of the Lord's illusory energy, having distanced ourselves from God and not seeking to draw closer to Him.
The third source is the change of body at the moment of death, which causes it, because as spiritual souls, we must reincarnate. In reality, forgetfulness comes from death. When we die, we must change bodies, and this is what causes forgetfulness.
The fourth source is the body into which we are reincarnated, which perpetuates forgetfulness.
We are all spiritual souls incarnated in a human body because of our disobedience to God. It is the material body into which we are incarnated that causes our forgetfulness of God, of our true spiritual identity, and thus plunges us into perpetual suffering and perdition.
In their conditioned state, incarnated beings belonging to the marginal energy are a combination of material and spiritual energy. Marginal energy is originally under the control of spiritual energy, but under the sway of material energy, fallen souls, incarnated within the material world, have wandered in oblivion since time immemorial.
Blessed are those who live outside the material sphere, who surrender themselves completely to God and serve Him with love and devotion, for they will emerge from oblivion and see the Supreme Lord face to face for eternity.
The Supreme Eternal, Krishna, says: I want you to know this: never, in any place, under any circumstances, can we be separate, for I am everywhere present.
Nothing is separate from My Person. The entire cosmic manifestation rests in Me; it is not separate from My Person. Before creation, I already existed.
To emerge from oblivion, we absolutely must renew the bond of love that unites us to him, surrender ourselves to him, love him, obey him, do his divine will, unite our desires, our projects and our interests with his, and serve him with love and devotion.
